The owners of a 2018 Toyota Rav4 contacted the Hillside Police Department to report that during the night someone stole his vehicle from the driveway of his home in Hillside. The Hillside Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 2018 Toyota Rav4.

A short while later officers from the Roselle Park Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal coming from the stolen Toyota, with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to Westfield Ave in Roselle Park where the vehicle was located parked on the street.  The vehicle was recovered undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2018 Toyota Rav4 in November of 2017, at Route 1 Toyota in Hillside, N.J.
