The owner of this Honda contacted the Fresno Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from a local strip mall. The Fresno Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Minutes after the LoJack was activated, the flight crew of Air One, a Fresno Police Department helicopter, picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the flight crew tracked the vehicle to the vicinity of Shields and West Avenues in northwest Fresno. The flight crew coordinated with responding ground units and the vehicle was located a short time later. A LoJack equipped patrol vehicle found the vehicle parked at the corner of Crystal and Shields Avenues. The vehicle was unoccupied and had been abandoned.

The Honda was recovered intact and undamaged; the owner was contacted but was not able to respond so the vehicle was stored pending release.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda in October 2006 by Buena Park Honda in Buena Park, California.
