LoJack System Helps New York Police Department Recover a 2005 Buick LeSabre

The owner of a 2005 Buick LeSabre parked her vehicle on the street by her house. When she came down for it the next morning she found it missing.This was in the Bronx, confines of the 47 precinct.. She immediately called the police of the 47 precinct. When the police arrived they verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automaticall activated the LoJac®k Sysyem concealed in the Buick. This was done both seamlessly and automatically without any notifications to anyone.

Within a short while the signal was picked up in the  West Farms section of the Bronx, by the Bronx Auto Larceny Unit with the LoJack Tracking Computers PTC) that are installed in police vehicles and aircraft. Following the audible and directional cues the officers tracked the vehicle to a residential section of the precinct. There they found the vehicle unoccupied. They placed the vehicle under surviellance for a short while and when no one returned to the vehicle it was recovered.

The vehicle was recovered with no damage, the owner was notified, and she was elated that her vehicle was recovered so quickly.

The LoJack unit was installed at New York Direct Customer, in New York, New York on Sept 13, 2007.

The value of the vehicle was approximately $7500.00.
