The owners of a Hyundai Elantra contacted the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen in the unincorporated area of Escondido. San Diego County Sheriff’s Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Hyundai.

At short time later, deputies from Riverside County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack from the stolen Hyundai with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the vehicle to the area of Loma Linda and Pechanga Parkway in the city of Temecula.  A traffic stop was made; a suspect was arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Hyundai Elantra in August 2018 at North County Hyundai, Carlsbad, California.
