The owner of a 2019 Toyota Highlander contacted the Harrison Township Police Department to report that while he was parking his vehicle he was approached by a man with a gun who forced him out of his vehicle and stole the vehicle.  The Harrison Township Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 2019 Toyota Highlander.

A short while later officers from the Essex County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to an abandoned home on North 12th Street in the City of Newark, where the vehicle was located in the rear yard.  The vehicle was recovered undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2019 Toyota Highlander in February of 2019 at Hudson Toyota in Jersey City, N.J.
