The owner of a 2005 Toyota Highlander contacted the Antioch Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen. The owner advised the vehicle was taken from the vicinity of Fitzuren Road and “G” Street. The Antioch Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota Highlander.

A short while later, a vehicle theft investigator with the California Highway Patrol’s Investigative Services Unit was working in the city of Antioch, when he was directed to the stolen vehicle by the silent LoJack signal received with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the stolen Toyota Highlander was tracked to a residential area at West 15th Street near “C” Street, where it was found unoccupied parked at the curb.  Surveillance was established on the vehicle but the suspect(s) did not return.

The stolen Toyota Highlander was recovered by the CHP investigator and the owner responded to the scene to pick up their vehicle.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2005 Toyota Highlander in May 2005, at Magic Toyota, in Edmonds, WA.
