The owner of a 2009 Mitsubishi Outlander contacted the Tulsa Police Department to report their vehicle was stolen.  The Tulsa PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mitsubishi Outlander.

Shortly after the activation, officers with the Tulsa PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mitsubishi with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officer tracked the LoJack signal to a residential neighborhood.  The Mitsubishi was found to be parked and unoccupied at which time officers made the recovery.

The owner will be notified of the recovery and will be reunited with their vehicle. The current owner had no idea that the previous owner requested to have LoJack installed in the Outlander in the event it was ever stolen.  This initial investment by the previous owner was passed along, at no additional cost, to the current owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Mitsubishi Outlander in March 2009 at Autoland in Los Angeles, California.
