The
owner of a 2007 Volvo XC9 contacted the Dallas Police Department to report that his vehicle had been stolen. The
owner was warming up his vehicle in his driveway unattended and when he
returned to it found it missing. The Dallas Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and
federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Volvo.
A short while later officers from the
Dallas Police Department
picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Volvo with the LoJack Police
Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and
aircraft. Following the directional and
audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Volvo to the 1700
block of S.St Augustine where they found it abandoned in a parking lot. The car stereo was missing.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Volvo XC9 in July 2007 at Volvo
of Richardson in Richardson, TX
