The owner of a 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan contacted the Austin Police Department to report that his vehicle had been stolen.  The owner parked his vehicle in his apartment parking lot and when he returned to it found it missing. The Austin Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Volkswagen.

A short while later officers from the Austin Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Volkswagen with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Volkswagen to a hotel off of Interstate 35, where they found it parked in the back parking lot.  The Volkswagen was recovered in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Volkswagen Tiguan in December 2018 at Truck City Ford in Austin, TX.
