LoJack System Helps Michigan State Police Recover Stolen Jeep Cherokee

The owners of a 2016 Jeep Cherokee contacted the Roseville Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from their residence.  Roseville Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Jeep.

A short while later troopers from Michigan State Police picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Jeep with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the troopers tracked the vehicle to industrial area of Detroit.  The vehicle was parked and abandoned.   

Because of the quick recovery the suspects did not have enough time to strip it or use it to commit additional crimes.  The stolen Jeep was impounded and later returned to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Jeep Cherokee in June 2018 at Enterprise Car Sales, Warren, Michigan.
