The owner of a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado contacted the Albuquerque Police Department to report his vehicle was stolen.  The owner advised he was out of town and when he returned home he discovered his Silverado was missing.  The Albuquerque PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet Silverado.

Approximately three minutes after the activation, deputies with the Santa Fe Sheriff’s Office and officers with the Santa Fe Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Silverado with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers and deputies tracked the LoJack signal to the area of NM14 and NM599.

The Silverado was tracked to a residential neighborhood and discovered to be parked in the backyard of a residence.  Contact was made at the residence and the Silverado was subsequently recovered.  The Silverado was towed from the scene for safekeeping.  Through effective interagency teamwork, this Silverado was safely and quickly recovered.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Silverado in July 2017 at Galles Chevrolet in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
