The owners of a Honda Accord contacted the Chula Vista Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen in the city of Chula Vista. San Diego County Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

A short while later, officers from Chula Vista Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the area of Hill Top Drive and East Palomar Street in the city of Chula Vista. The stolen Honda Accord was recovered parked and unoccupied at this location.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda in June of 2004 at Fuller Ford, National City, California.
