The owners of a 2018 Ford F-150 contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from the parking lot of their dealership in the 600 block of Decatur. The vehicle was locked but the keys were left in a lock box on the window. The Ford was found to be missing during inventory. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

A short while later officers from Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Air Unit picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to a residential address in the 5500 block of Pillow Talk where the Ford was recovered parked and unoccupied. The Ford was recovered undamaged and returned to the owners.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F-150 in October of 2018 at Friendly Ford, Las Vegas, Nevada.
