The owners of a 2018 Honda Accord contacted the City of Elizabeth Police Department to report that sometime during the night, their vehicle was stolen from the parking lot of their apartment complex in the City of Elizabeth. The City of Elizabeth Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 2018 Honda Accord.

A short while later officers from the Essex County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to Central Avenue in the City of Newark, where the vehicle was located parked and unoccupied on the street. The vehicle was recovered undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2018 Honda Accord in June of 2018 at Hudson Honda of Jersey City, N.J.
