The owner of a 2006 Chevrolet Suburban contacted the Albuquerque Police Department to report their vehicle was stolen.  The owner advised the Chevrolet Suburban was possibly stolen with the keys.  The Albuquerque PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet Suburban.

Approximately 40 minutes after the activation, officers with the Albuquerque PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Suburban with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the LoJack signal to the area of Vermont and Copper.

Officers located the Suburban parked and unoccupied in an apartment complex parking lot.  Officers observed damage to the driver door lock but no other obvious signs of damage.  The Suburban was processed for evidence and will be returned to owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Suburban in October 2005 at Rotolo Chevrolet Inc. in Fontana, California.
