The owner of a 2013 Chevrolet Suburban contacted the Albuquerque Police Department to report their vehicle had been stolen.  The owner advised the driver’s door window was broken.  The Albuquerque PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet Suburban.

Approximately five minutes after the activation, officers with the Albuquerque PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Suburban with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the LoJack signal to a residential neighborhood in the area of Central and Western Skies.

Officers located the Suburban parked along the curb and two subjects were observed leaving the vehicle on foot.  Both subjects were taken into custody and the Suburban was recovered.  The subjects were found to have several outstanding active warrants for their arrest.  The owner was notified of the recovery and responded to the scene.  The owner was thankful the Suburban was recovered so quickly and did not know the previous owner had installed the LoJack® System at the initial purchase.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Suburban in July 2014 at Galles Chevrolet in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
