The owner of this Dodge Pickup contacted the Oakhurst office of the California Highway Patrol to report that his vehicle had been stolen from in front of his residence. The California Highway Patrol verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Dodge.

About two hours after the LoJack was activated, Investigators with CCAT, the Fresno Police Department Auto Theft Task Force picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Dodge with the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the investigators tracked the vehicle to the parking lot of an apartment complex near Hughes and Dakota avenues in northwest Fresno. The vehicle was found unoccupied and abandoned, parked in a stall in the lot. Surveillance was initiated for several hours but the suspects never returned. The vehicle was recovered intact and undamaged; it was released to the owner at the recovery scene.

The LoJack® System was installed in September 2007 by Spring Chrysler Jeep Dodge in Spring, Texas.
