LoJack® System in Nissan Altima assists Seattle Police Department with Recovery of Renton Police Department Stolen Vehicle

The owner of a 2007 Nissan Altima went inside a Renton, WA fitness center to work out. She secured her belongings inside a locker with a padlock. Upon returning to the locker room, she found her locker had been broken into and her credit cards and vehicle keys were missing. She then realized her Nissan had been stolen from the parking lot. The victim called Renton Police Department to report the theft. The officer verified the theft and the Nissan was entered as stolen into the state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the vehicle.
Within an hour of the theft report, an officer with the Seattle Police Department received a LoJack hit on his Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Troopers with the Washington State Patrol also received the hit and responded to assist with the track. Utilizing the audible and visual signals of the LoJack® PTCs, the officers were able to navigate and find the stolen Nissan in the City of Seattle, WA. The Nissan was unoccupied and did not sustain any damage. The Nissan was turned over to a very thankful owner.
The total time elapsed from stolen vehicle entry to recovery and deactivation was only one hour and thirty-four minutes.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan Altima on March 2nd, 2009 by Puyallup Nissan & Suzuki in Washington.
