The owner of a 2004 Toyota Camry double parked his vehicle on the street and left it running while he ran into the store to get something. Apparently some miscreant jumped into the vehicle and took off with it, this was in the Soundview section of the Bronx confines of the 43 precinct. When he came out and found it issing, he immediately called the Police of the 43 precinct. When the Police arrived they took a written report, verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota. This was done both seamlessly and silently without any other notifications.

Within a short while the signal was picked up by officers of the Bronx Auto Larceny unit, in the Soundview  section of the Bronx. They tracked it through various sections of the Bronx; eventually they located the vehicle parked on a residential street. They staked the vehicle out for a short while, their patience was richly rewarded, a male entered the vehicle, but before he was able to drive off they boxed him in. They immediately placed  the male under arrest without incident.

The vehicle was recovered with no damage, the owner was notified and was elated that his vehicle was recovered so quickly, especially with no damage.

The LoJack unit was installed at .Parkway Toyota of Englewood Ciffs NJ in June of 2004.

The value of the vehicle was approximately $7,000.00
