The owner of a 2014 Land Rover Range Rover Sport contacted the Fort Lauderdale Police Department to report that his vehicle had been stolen during a residential burglary. The Fort Lauderdale Police verified the theft and had the vehicle information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine action automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Land Rover.

A short while later officers from the auto theft task force picked up the silent LoJack signals from the stolen Land Rover with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from their PTCs, the officers tracked the vehicle to the Park West Apartments located at 1901 NW 46th Avenue.  The vehicle was recovered unoccupied with no damage and returned to the owner after crime scene processing.  A second stolen vehicle, a black BMW sedan valued at $45,000.00 was also recovered at the scene.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Land Rover at Land Rover Fort Lauderdale in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in April, 2014.
