The owner of a 2018 Honda Civic contacted the Hayward Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen. The owner advised the vehicle was taken from in front of their residence in the 2000 block of Victory Drive. The Hayward Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 2018 Honda Civic.

A short time later, an officer from the Hayward Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officer tracked the stolen Honda Civic to the parking lot of a shopping center in the 21000 block of Hesperian Boulevard, where the vehicle was found unoccupied.

The undamaged Honda Civic was recovered by the Hayward Police Department and the vehicle was towed/stored for safe keeping, to be returned to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2018 Honda Civic in January of 2018, at Honda of Hayward, in Hayward, CA.
