The owners of a 2004 Toyota Solara contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from the parking lot of their business in the 5100 block of Dean Martin.  The owners had purchased the Toyota through auction and had left it secured at the business.  When the business owner discovered that it was missing he confronted the employee who had control over it and the employee admitted that his girlfriend had stolen it and would not return it.  When the girlfriend of the employee would not return phone calls the owners notified the police.  Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

25 minutes later officers from North Las Vegas Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to an address in North Las Vegas where they located the Toyota.   The Toyota was recovered and returned to the owners.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Solara in May of 2008 at Centennial Toyota, Las Vegas, Nevada.
