The owners of a 2015 Ford Explorer contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from the parking lot of a fast food restaurant in the 4800 block of Flamingo.  The owners had stopped to go into the fast food location and left the Ford running and unattended while they were inside.  When they returned to where they had left their vehicle they found the Ford missing so they notified police.  Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

A short while later officers from Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department as well as troopers from the Nevada Highway Patrol picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers and troopers tracked the vehicle to the parking lot of a business complex in the 4500 block of Tropicana.  The Ford was unoccupied and undamaged.  The Ford was recovered by the officers and returned back to the owners.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Explorer in November of 2014 at Friendly Ford, Las Vegas, Nevada.
