The owners of a 2009 Mercedes E350 had been involved in an accident and had their vehicle towed to a local tow yard. During the evening the vehicle was stolen from the tow yard. The next morning the towing company reported the vehicle stolen to DeKalb Police. DeKalb Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mercedes which automatically activated the hidden Lojack in the vehicle.

A short time later Officers from the DeKalb Police department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mercedes with the LoJack Tracking Computers (PTC’s) that are installed in their vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from their PTC’s they were able to locate the vehicle unattended in an industrial area not far from where it had been stolen. The vehicle was verified as stolen and returned to the same tow yard where it had been stolen from.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Mercedes in Jan of 2009 at Mercedes Benz of Miami.
