An employee of a rental company started one of their rental vehicles early in the morning and left it running and unattended only to discover that it had been stolen by person or persons unknown in just a few minutes. A manager reported the theft to the Denver Police Department and an officer had the vehicle information entered into the state and federal crime computers.  This routine action automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the truck.

Just minutes later officers from several jurisdictions (tracking queries from Denver, Littleton, Westminster and Jeffcom911) were picking up the silent LoJack homing signals from the freshly stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from their PTCs, Denver Police officers tracked and located the Ford F-250 in the 1300 block of Irving Street.  It was unoccupied.  The truck was recovered undamaged and was returned to the rental company in less than two hours.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2016 Ford F-250 in Oct of 2015, when new at the request of the current owners.
