The owners of a 2005 Toyota Four Runner contacted the Garland Police Dept to report that their vehicle had been stolen.  The owners are a used car lot.  The suspect walked onto the car lot and walked into the office.   Once in the office, he grabbed a set of car keys that were lying on a desk and drove off in this vehicle without permission.  The Garland Police Dept verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

A short while later officers from the Dallas Police Dept picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Toyota to 1300 block of Strickland, where they found it abandoned on the street.  The Toyota was recovered in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Four Runner in June of 2005 at Clair Toyota in Boston, MA.
