The owner of a 2017 Chevrolet Spark contacted the Albuquerque Police Department to report thier vehicle was stolen.  The owner advised one of her car keys was taken about two months ago.  The Chevrolet Spark was stolen from her residence in the area of Mountain and Louisiana.  The Albuquerque PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet Spark.

Shortly after the activation, officers with the Albuquerque PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the LoJack signal to the area of Chelwood Park and Lomas.

Officers located the Chevrolet in an apartment complex parking lot and determined it was occupied by two subjects.  Both subjects were taken into custody and the driver was found to be in possession of narcotics.  The driver was arrested and was booked for several charges.  The owner was notified of the recovery and responded to the scene to get back her Chevrolet.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Spark in March 2018 at Galles Chevrolet in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
