A 2006 Honda Ridgeline truck was stolen from a Tukwila, Washington hotel parking lot while the owner slept.  Once the owner realized his vehicle and keys were missing he called the King County Sheriff’s Office and reported the theft. The theft was verified and the truck was entered as stolen into the state and federal crime computers.  This automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the vehicle.

A Sergeant with the McMinnville, Oregon Police Department received a LoJack hit on his Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Utilizing the audible and visual signals of the LoJack® PTC, the sergeant was able to navigate and isolate the signal coming from the stolen truck to a residence known for criminal activity in the 2600 block of SW Redmond Hill Rd, McMinnville, Oregon.  A garage door was slightly ajar and the sergeant could see what appeared to be a Honda Ridgeline truck inside.  Attempts were made to contact the occupants of the house but they refused to come out.  As a search warrant was being drafted to enter the residence and recover the stolen vehicle, three occupants exited the house and were subsequently detained.  Two male suspects were arrested on outstanding warrants. Charges for possession of stolen vehicle are pending further investigation but are forthcoming.  The stolen Honda Ridgeline was recovered and impounded for safekeeping.  The owner was notified and very appreciative his vehicle was recovered and suspects were identified and arrested.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Ridgeline truck in March of 2006 for Hinshaws Honda in Washington.
