The owners of a 2005 Toyota Highlander contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from the driveway of their residence in the 2900 block of Hawksdale.  The Toyota had been left unlocked with the keys on the seat.  Later when the owners returned to the Toyota they found that it was missing so they notified police.   Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

A short while later officers from Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the parking lot of a business complex in the 1700 block of Village Center where they found the Toyota abandoned and undamaged.  The Toyota was recovered and returned to the owners.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Highlander in July of 2008 at Centennial Toyota, Las Vegas, Nevada.
