The owner of a 2017 Ford F250 pickup contacted the San Antonio Police Dept to report that his vehicle had been stolen.  The owner parked his vehicle in a restaurant parking lot and when he returned to it found it missing. The San Antonio Police Dept verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford pickup.

Eleven minutes after being entered as stolen the helicopter from San Antonio Police Dept picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford pickup with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the helicopter tracked the stolen Ford pickup to 9000 block of Interstate 10, where they observed it traveling southbound.  The helicopter directed patrol to this location that were then able to stop the stolen Ford pickup and arrest the driver.  The Ford pickup was recovered in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F250 pickup in October of 2017 at Auto Nation Ford in Katy, TX.
