The owners of a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from the driveway of their home in the 1800 block of Green Acres.   The truck had been parked and locked and left for the night.  When the owners returned to use it the next morning, they found it missing so they notified the police.  Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet.

A short while later officers from Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Air Unit picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to a residential neighborhood in the 2500 block of Daley and the officers in the helicopter were able to direct ground units to the stolen Chevrolet.  The Chevrolet was found to be abandoned but undamaged.  The Chevrolet was then recovered and returned back to the owners.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Silverado in August of 2005 at Mark Christopher Auto Center, Ontario, California.
