The owner of a 2017 Chevrolet Trax contacted the Albuquerque Police Department and the LoJack Call Center to report the vehicle was stolen.  The owner advised they were having dinner at a restaurant and when they went to leave they found the Trax was missing from the parking lot.  The Albuquerque PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet Trax.

Approximately an hour after the activation, officers with the New Mexico State Police picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Trax with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officer tracked the LoJack signal to the area of Dorado and Dunes.

The officer observed the Trax to be parked and unoccupied with no apparent signs of damage.  Officers attempted to make contact with the owner to advise of the Chevrolet’s recovery.  Contact with the owner was not made so the Trax was towed from the scene for safe keeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Trax in June 2017 at Galles Chevrolet in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
