The owners of a Honda Accord contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen in the city of San Diego.

San Diego County Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

At a later time, officers from Chula Vista Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the 5500 block of Roanoke Oaks drive in the city of Chula Vista.  A traffic stop was made; one suspect was taken into custody for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The Honda had previously been entered as stolen, tracked and recovered by San Diego police Department in 2008 and 2017.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda in January 1999 at Pacific Honda, San Diego, California.
