The owner of this Chrysler contacted the Exeter Police Department to report that his vehicle had been stolen from his residence sometime during the night. The Exeter Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chrysler.

About two hours after the LoJack was activated, an investigator with the Fresno HEAT, the Fresno County Auto Theft Task Force picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chrysler with the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officer tracked the vehicle to the vicinity of Freeway 99 and Avenue 384 south of Kingsburg. The vehicle was spotted and followed into the parking lot of a gas station where it was stopped and the driver detained. After further investigation the adult male driver was arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property. He was also found to be on probation for vehicle theft and charged with a probation violation. The vehicle was recovered intact and undamaged; it was stored pending release to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chrysler in December of 2003 by CarMax LAX in Inglewood, California.
