The renter of a 2014 Miller Welder/Generator retuned to the jobsite to discover that the Miller Welder he was using was stolen.  The owner was notified and contacted the Duval County Sheriff’s Officer to make a police report.  The responding Deputy prepared a police report, theft affidavit and had the Welder information entered into the state and federal crime information computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System transponder concealed in the item.  Police patrol vehicles, helicopters, and fixed wing aircraft equipped with Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) began to search for stolen Welder.

When the silent LoJack® registered an activation alert, Officers located the welder, which was found in the rear yard of a residence at 6070 Gilchrist Road. Also found in the yard were several vehicle truck beds, which appeared to be new.  No evidence was found to prove that the truck beds were stolen, but the investigations continues.  The welder was recovered and returned to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2015 Welder at a rental facility in St. Augustine, Florida.
