The owners of a 2017 Kia Sorento contacted the Oceanside Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen in the city of Oceanside.
Oceanside Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Kia.
At a later time, deputies from San Diego County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Kia with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the vehicle to the 500 block of West Bobier Drive in the city of Vista.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Kia Sorento in December 12016 at North County Kia, Escondido, California.
