The owners of a2010 ACTO Generator contacted the Los Angeles Police Department to report that their ATCO Generator was stolen.  Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the ATCO Generator.

A short while later Los Angeles Sheriff’s Air-29 flight deputies picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen ATCO Generator with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, Air-29 tracked the vehicle to the area of Placerita Canyon and Choke Cherry alerting ground deputies of the LoJack tracking.  Deputies from the LASD Santa Clarita station responded with their LoJack equipped vehicle and tracked it to the 24000 block of Choke Cherry where they observed a male adult working on the generator which was parked at a residence.  The Deputies deployed on this suspect and conducted their investigation. The suspect was arrested and later booked for the theft and possession of stolen property. The generator was later processed and released to the victim.

The LoJack® System was installed in the ATCO Generator in October 2015.
