The owner of a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu contacted the Isleta Police Department to report the vehicle was stolen.  The owner advised the Chevrolet was last seen in the parking lot.  The Isleta PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet Malibu.

Shortly after the activation, a vehicle equipped with the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Malibu.  The signal was tracked into a residential neighborhood in the area of San Pablo and Trumbull.

Officers with the Albuquerque Police Department located the Malibu backed into a parking space in front of an apartment complex.  The vehicle was unoccupied and the doors were locked.  Officers requested a Crime Scene Specialist to process the Malibu for evidence.  The owner was notified of the recovery and responded to the scene.  The Malibu was released back to the owner before the offender could use it to commit additional crimes.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Malibu in December 2015 at Brad Francis Chevrolet in Los Lunas, New Mexico.
