The owners of a 2006 Ford F-250 contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from the parking lot of a shopping center in the 4500 block of West Charleston.  The owners had parked and locked the Ford and went into a store to shop.  When they returned they found the Ford missing so they called police.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

9 minutes later officers from North Las Vegas Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the parking lot of a business complex in the city of North Las Vegas.  The Ford was unoccupied and abandoned.   The Ford was recovered and towed for safekeeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F-250 in March of 2006 at Raceway Ford, Riverside, California.
