The owners of a 2015 Ford Mustang contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from the parking lot of a shopping center in the 1500 block of Twain.  The owners had left a spare key in the console of the Ford.   When they returned to use it again they found it missing so they notified police.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

A short while later officers from Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to a residential address in the 1500 block of Santa Anita where they found the Ford being driven by a male.  Officers were able to safely stop the Ford and take the male into custody.  They also found the male to be armed with a stolen firearm.  The male was arrested for possession of the stolen Ford as well as the stolen firearm.  The male was taken to jail and the Ford was recovered and returned back to the owners.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Mustang in August of 2015 at Mac Haik Ford, Houston, Texas.
