The owners of a 2015 Mercedes Benz S500 called the Demarest Police Department to report that during the night his vehicle was stolen from the driveway of his home in Demarest. The keys were in the vehicle when it was stolen.

The Demarest Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 2015 Mercedes Benz S500.

A short while later, detectives from the New Jersey State Police Auto Theft Task Force picked up the silent LoJack signal coming from the stolen Mercedes with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the detectives tracked the vehicle to North 10th Street in the City of Newark. The detectives set up surveillance on the vehicle and were able to identify two suspects that were involved in the theft of the vehicle.  The suspects were taken into custody and vehicle was recovered undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2015 Mercedes Benz S500 in May of 2015 at Mercedes Benz of Chantilly, Virginia.
