The owners of a 2017 Toyota Tundra contacted the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.  Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota Tundra.

A short while later officers from  LAPD 77th St Division  picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota Tundra with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to 77 St and Figueroa where they located the vehicle backed into a driveway of a residence.  The officers observed two individuals inside the vehicle and detained them without further incident.  The male in the driver’s seat was arrested for grand theft auto and the passenger, who was an “18th St active gang member”, was found to have an active Parole warrant for Assault with a Deadly Weapon. This individual was arrested for the warrant. During an inventory search of the vehicle, an AK 47 Replica pellet gun was located.  Both suspects were booked into the LAPD 77th St Division jail. Case referred to detectives.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Tundra at Auto Nation in January 2017 in February 2009.
