The owners of a 2015 Subaru Forester contacted the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office to report that their vehicle had been stolen from their residence in Golden.  A deputy responded and verified the theft and had the vehicle information entered into the state and federal crime computers.  This routine action automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Subaru.

A short while later officers from Jefferson County, Denver PD and Greenwood Village PD picked up the silent LoJack signals from the stolen Subaru with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from their PTCs, the officers from the Greenwood Village PD tracked the vehicle to the rear parking lot of a motel near South Clinton Street and Easter Avenue. The vehicle was unoccupied.  An Arapahoe County deputy was call to the scene for the recovery because the location was in the City of Centennial.  The vehicle appeared to be undamaged and was secured for return to the owners.

The LoJack® System had been installed in the Subaru Forester in January 2015 at the request of a previous owner of the vehicle.
