The owner of a 2005 Nissan Quest contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report that his vehicle had been stolen from his residence in the 3200 block of Arville.  The owner had gone out of town leaving his Nissan at his apartment.  While he was out of town his roommate’s son came over and took the Nissan without permission.  When the owner got back into town he contacted the roommate’s son and asked him to return it and he refused, so the owner contacted police.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

A short while later officers from North Las Vegas Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the parking lot of a bank in the 2100 block of Las Vegas Blvd.  The Nissan was unoccupied at the time.  The Nissan was then recovered and towed for safekeeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan Quest in September of 2005 at Mossy Nissan, National City, California
