The owner of a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report that his vehicle had been stolen from a construction site in the 600 block of Fogg where he was working.  The owner had parked the Chevrolet on the perimeter of the construction site and had left the keys in the Chevrolet.  The owner observed a male get into his truck and drive off so he notified the police.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet.

A short while later officers from Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the intersection of Cascade Run and Joseph Canyon where they found the Chevrolet being driven by a male.  The officers were able to conduct a safe stop of the Chevrolet and take the driver into custody.  The owner came to the recovery scene and identified the driver as the one who stole the Chevrolet.  The driver was then arrested for the theft of the truck and it was recovered and returned back to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Silverado in November of 2016 at John L Sullivan Chevrolet, Roseville, California.
