The owner of a 2017 Ford Mustang Convertible walked outside of his home to find that his vehicle was missing.  The owner contacted the Broward Sheriff’s Office to report that the 2017 Ford Mustang was stolen.  The responding Deputy prepared a stolen vehicle report, theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime information computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System transponder concealed in the Mustang.  Police patrol vehicles, helicopters, and fixed wing aircraft equipped with Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) began to search for stolen vehicle.

When Officers in the City of Miami Gardens picked up the silent LoJack® signal a search was conducted.  The silent LoJack® signals directed law enforcement to a residence in the City of Miami Gardens.  A surveillance was established with plainclothes units.  When the vehicle became occupied the Law Enforcement Officers stopped the vehicle and one suspect was taken into custody.  The Mustang Convertible was recovered and the investigation continues.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2017 Ford Mustang at United BMW in Roswell, Georgia.
