The owner of a 2016 Chevrolet Suburban contacted the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office to report the vehicle was stolen.  The victim advised she left her purse with the vehicle keys inside of the Suburban.  A miscreant burglarized the Suburban, located the keys inside of the purse and departed in the victim’s vehicle.  The Bernalillo County SO verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet Suburban.

Shortly after the activation, officers with the Albuquerque Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Suburban with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles and aircraft.  The Suburban was tracked to the area of 3rd Street NW and Aztec NW.  The Suburban was observed to be unoccupied and parked along the curb.

The Suburban was recovered and processed for evidence at the scene.  The owner was notified of the recovery and she responded to the scene to take possession of her Suburban.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Suburban in September 2016 at Galles Chevrolet in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
