The owners of a 2017 Ford Mustang contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from the lot of their dealership in the 600 block of North Decatur.  The keys were left in the vehicle while it was in the service bay and it was left unattended.  Video Surveillance recorded an Hispanic male get into the ford and drive it off of the lot.  When the theft was discovered the police were notified.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

23 minutes later officers from Los Angeles Police Department in California picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the intersection of Beaver and Bradley where they located the Ford occupied by two males.  A traffic stop was conducted on the Ford and both males were taken safely into custody.  The Ford was then recovered and towed for safekeeping.  The males were both arrested and taken to jail.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Mustang in April of 2018 at Friendly Ford, Las Vegas, Nevada.
