The owner of a 2007 Mercedes C230 contacted the Montgomery Co SO to report that his vehicle had been stolen.  The owner had some friends over to his house and went to take a shower.  After the shower, the owner found one friend and his vehicle missing.

The Montgomery Co So verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mercedes.

A short while later troopers from Texas DPS picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mercedes with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the troopers tracked the stolen Mercedes to an apartment complex in the 100 block of Rayford Rd in Conroe.  This stolen Mercedes was found in the parking lot.  Troopers set up surveillance on the stolen Mercedes, but after several hours no one entered it and the surveillance was discontinued.  The Mercedes was recovered in good condition.  This is an ongoing investigation.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Mercedes C230 in March of 2007 at Mercedes Benz of San Diego, CA.
