The owner of a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup contacted the Shasta County Sheriff’s Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen.  The owner advised they had been car-jacked at a truck stop in 19000 block of Knighton Road.

The Shasta County Sheriff’s Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 2005 Dodge Ram1500 pickup.
A short time later, a Shasta County Sheriff’s Deputy was alerted to the stolen Dodge pickup by means of the silent LoJack signal from the stolen vehicle with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the stolen Dodge pickup was tracked and was found parked, unoccupied in a mobile home park in the 6800 block of Riverland Drive.  The investigation into the identity of the suspect is continuing.

The undamaged, stolen Dodge Ram was recovered by the Shasta County Sheriff’s Department and the vehicle was towed/stored to be processed for latent evidence prior to being released back to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup in October of 2009, at Folsom Dodge, in Folsom, CA.
